Crystals for Protection

A few weeks ago a friend asked: What are people seeking when they come into For Heaven’s Sake? Help with love?
To her surprise the answer is Protection. You may ask, Protection from what? Well, protection for a newborn baby. Protection from negative people, be it from co-workers, family members or an ex-lover. Protection for a new residence. And protection from just everyday malevolent energy. After protection falls love, then prosperity. We will take a look at love and prosperity in another blog, but for now let’s work on protecting you and your loved ones.
Marble Agate: Along with bringing good luck, this light tan/brown crystal is especially protective for children, as it is a calming stone. All agates possess the ability to stabilize the aura, cleansing it and transforming negative energy.
Black Tourmaline: The go-to protection stone, but remember to cleanse this crystal regularly because it can hold negative energy. Black Tourmaline is useful in repelling lower and harmful energies. It provides protection from others negative energies. It is also great for putting around your computer as it can deflect harmful exposure to radiation and electro-magnetic frequencies (EMFs). Native Americans used this stone to deflect negative spells, and in turn it is said to “energize the victim and increase well-being” (Love Is In The Earth, by Melody).
Shungite: Shungite consists of carbon, which makes it an excellent stone for cleansing, along with clearing negative energies, such as EMFs. It is another crystal to keep by your computer, cellphone, or router. It is reported to work on the cellular level, enabling it to protect, cleanse and align the particles in your body.
Jet: Another black crystal, but this one is super light because it is “fossilized” driftwood. Jet is especially good for businesses and stabilizing your finances via protection and eliminating fear. It has been used to protect against psychic attacks. Because of its lightness, it has an ability to absorb negative energy, so remember to clear this crystal frequently.
Black Obsidian: Obsidian comes in a variety of colors and is volcanic glass, thus be careful with the raw form as it has sharp edges. All Obsidian is protective from negative energies in oneself and the environment. The black variety is great for protecting the home. You can put it around the perimeter of the house or bury it in the four corners of your property. Wearing Black Obsidian can help deter negative thoughts and can help one gain answers as it has been used by shamans. In the “Book of Stones,” Robert Simmons calls Black Obsidian “a psychic vacuum cleaner,” while co-author Naisha Ahsian states it has the ability to “seal the aura and remove attachments, hooks and cords,” creating a protective shield.
Snowflake Obsidian: This is one of my favorite stones because it is protective just like Black Obsidian, and it also helps open the Crown Charka, assisting one in eliminating negative thought patterns and blocked energy while enhancing the energy field.
Blue Tiger’s Eye: Also known as Hawk’s Eye, this dark blue crystal is excellent at protecting one for negative energy at work. It also assists in reducing stress and anxiety. This is a great stone to keep on you if you have a presentation to give as it helps relax the Throat Chakra.
Kyanite: This is one of the few crystals that never needs clearing and comes in a variety of colors, including blue, black and green. Kyanite dispels anger and fear, along with dissolving energy blockages. It can help in negotiations and in stressful conversations. It is also great in producing an energy field around you and your home. One crystal shop owner told me he has Black Kyanite buried around the perimeter of his building as a protective shield.
Labradorite: The iridescent crystal protects ones aura, helping to keep it “clean, balanced, protected and free from energy leaks,” (Love is in the Earth, by Melody), thus creating a wonderful force field. It also helps one attract strength and endurance.
Spirit Quartz: This is also known as Cactus Quartz and comes in Clear Quartz, Citrine and Amethyst, with the Amethyst variety being a wonderful tool for cleansing and purifying the aura, while dispelling negative attachments and entities. Both varieties help eliminate fear.
