Crystals to Help You Navigate the Upcoming Eclipses

Are you feeling a little off balanced and just can’t nail it down? A little spacey? A bit off-kilter? Well, you are not alone. July and August are jammed packed with celestial events – three eclipses and six planets in retrograde by the end of July. It’s enough to make you hide under the covers.

But it’s OK to come out because we have you covered with some crystals that will help you navigate these celestial events. We will be experiencing the longest lunar eclipse of the century  (July 27 in Aquarius) and a new moon solar eclipse (July 12 in Cancer) followed by another new moon solar eclipse in early August (August 11 in Leo) all in a short period.

First, eclipses “are some of the most dramatic tools that the universe uses to get us to pay attention to areas of our lives that need changing,” according to astrologer Susan Miller

So, all in all, an eclipse is not a bad thing. Solar eclipses create new beginnings and opportunities and are always on new moons. Lunar eclipses bring things to an end, are always on a full moon, and are more emotional than their solar counterparts.

Eclipses have been described as new moons and full moons on steroids and can be felt a month to the day before or after an eclipse. So that’s a long time we will be under the spell of three eclipses.

Oh, and the planets that will be retrograde by the end of July – Mars, Pluto, Mercury, Saturn, Jupiter and Neptune. Yes, we can bemoan the retro, but they are times we can look at our past and finish things we started and never finished. We can reconnect, resolve, revise, research and renew.

Now to those crystals to keep handy in the next few weeks.

Moldavite This is the darling stone that author Robert Simmons raves about in his book “The Book of Stones – Who They Are & What They Teach.”  This stone fell from the sky about 15 million years ago and helps to rapidly shift your vibrations and helps clear what is no longer serving you. It is also good for clearing all the charkas.

Labradorite One of our personal favorite stones for its iridescent quality and shimmering display of colors. This stone helps shift energy and consciousness to a higher level. Helps activate psychic abilities and expands perception so you can decipher and deal with what an eclipse is trying to show you. It is also a good protection stone from negative forces, keeping your aura clear and balanced.

Mook Jasper This reddish stone helps to reawaken our abilities to simply “know” what direction to take and can align the root charka to enhance our intuition to the patterns of Earth. It is a good grounding stone that helps us to stay attune to the world. This can be useful during times of conflict or decision making.

Amber Another Earth stone, as it is made up of fossilized organic materials – think insects and plants. Amber is a warmth stone and connects us with the sun giving us a sense of comfort and well-being. It also can help restore your energy, something we all need during eclipses. Pairing it with Moldavite can help bring positive and successful inner transformation.

Citrine  A popular crystal for a good reason – it enhances clarity, is good for manifesting prosperity and wealth in your new beginnings, helping you overcome difficulty to take decisive action. And for those days you are feeling out of sorts, citrine is good for self-esteem and self-confidence.

Smoky Quartz This Earth stone is one of the leading grounding stones and is good for protecting against negative energies. It can help you during times of feeling spacey (eclipses) and assists in organization and practicality.

Sunstone  Another stone that helps with clarity, willpower and taking action. It carries the frequency of the sun and allows us to utilize knowledge and wisdom for the highest good of all. You can’t go wrong with this stone.

Moonstone The sunstone’s counterpart connects us to the rhythms of the moon, allowing for reflection and looking for light in dark places. It’s a great stone for helping with patience and encouraging one to pay attention to the cycles of life. It can help you gain perspective on the meanings and purposes of the emotions during an eclipse.

Stop by either of our locations to find the stone(s) that are calling to you during this time, and see and feel the crystals listed above for use before, during and after the eclipses!
